Xabi Alonso to Remain Leverkusen Manager Next Season

Xabi Alonso will stay on as manager of Bayer Leverkusen for the 2022-23 season.
Alonso led Leverkusen to seventh place in the Bundesliga and the Europa League semifinals in his first season as manager.
There were rumors Alonso was a candidate for the Tottenham Hotspur manager position, but he is under contract with Leverkusen through 2024.
Leverkusen face Roma in the second leg of their Europa League semifinal on Thursday.
Alonso said he is "very happy" at Leverkusen and looks forward to continuing to guide the club next season.
