X, formerly known as Twitter, has introduced passkey support for iOS users in the US, providing a more secure login option than traditional passwords.
Passkeys use device-based authentication methods like Face ID, Touch ID, or a device's passcode, eliminating the need for users to remember and enter passwords.
The passkey feature is currently only available for iOS users in the US, with no confirmed timeline for its rollout on other platforms or in other countries.
Passkeys are considered more secure than traditional passwords as they are impervious to phishing attempts and make unauthorized access more difficult unless the device itself is compromised.
Users can set up a passkey on X by navigating to the 'Additional password protection' option in the 'Security' settings of the app.
