Wyoming to Retire Josh Allen’s No. 17 at Halftime of Nov. 22 Game vs. Nevada

The honor makes the reigning NFL MVP the first Cowboy to have his number retired.

Overview

  • The ceremony is scheduled for halftime of Wyoming’s home game against Nevada in Laramie on Nov. 22.
  • Allen confirmed he will attend, with the Bills playing on Thursday night in Week 12 to leave him free that weekend.
  • Athletic director Tom Burman called it a big day for Wyoming Football and praised Allen as the university’s most high-profile ambassador.
  • Allen is also being inducted into the UW Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday.
  • He played for the Cowboys from 2015 to 2017, posting 5,066 passing yards and 767 rushing yards while leading back-to-back eight-win seasons.
