WWII-era London tunnels to house £220m spy museum

  • Planning permission was granted this month for the £220m project with construction slated to begin in 2027 and completion in 2028.
  • Permanent galleries will feature original military intelligence equipment, documents and a dedicated exhibition on the Special Operations Executive.
  • The museum aims to welcome up to 3 million visitors a year and will include what is claimed to be the deepest bar in any major city.
  • Consultation documents estimate the attraction could boost local spending by £80m annually, create 40 onsite jobs and offer free school trips.
