Overview
- The media-rights agreement, announced Sept. 2, 2026, gives WTGL carriage across ESPN platforms (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2) and over-the-air network ION.
- WTGL will launch its inaugural season on Nov. 8 with 15 match days expected to split roughly half on ION and half on ESPN’s networks.
- Scripps/ION is paying a rights fee for the package but the companies and TMRW have not disclosed the full financial terms of the multiyear deal.
- TMRW Sports will produce WTGL broadcasts in-house and on-air talent lineups have not been finalized, though ESPN has supplied talent for the men’s TGL in the past.
- Backed by TMRW and Trybe Ventures with investor and franchise partners including Fenway Sports Group, WTGL uses TGL’s indoor hybrid format at the SoFi Center and could expand year-round free-to-air coverage for women’s team sports once the season begins.
