Overview

• The collision occurred around 11:40–11:45 a.m. Saturday on Cedar Avenue just south of 185th Street West in Lakeville.
• Preliminary findings indicate a Jaguar XJ driven by the 85-year-old was traveling south in the northbound lanes when it struck a Tesla Model 3 head-on.
• Both drivers were the only occupants, received on-scene care, and were transported to a Hennepin County hospital, where the man later died.
• Investigators say the Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with a reconstruction to determine the cause of the crash.
