- Houston police say a silver BMW was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of I-10 near Washington and Westcott just after midnight Oct. 28 when it struck a Tesla Cybertruck head-on.
- The BMW caught fire and the Cybertruck was pushed into a blue Freightliner 18-wheeler, whose driver was not injured.
- The BMW driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Cybertruck driver died later at a hospital, according to HPD.
- Friends and family told KHOU 11 the Cybertruck driver was 38-year-old Jamar Champ, a former North Dakota State football player and entrepreneur.
- Masika Kalysha publicly mourned and asked media to hold details to protect her children, as investigators continue the case and review whether impairment was a factor in an area with posted wrong-way warnings.
