• A 53-year-old man driving a gray vehicle crossed into the southbound lanes and struck a black SUV.
• The wrong-way driver suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
• The 68-year-old man in the SUV was taken to the same hospital and was listed in good condition, according to officials.
• No citations have been issued, and the Major Accident Investigation Unit is leading the probe on what police describe as a divided stretch with a landscaped median.
