Overview

• Authorities received reports around 3:42–3:45 a.m. of a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes near Alameda Avenue in the Sun Valley/Burbank area.
• The wrong-way vehicle struck a northbound car, disabling it, and a third vehicle then hit the disabled car and overturned.
• The wrong-way driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and at least three other people were transported to hospitals in unknown condition.
• All northbound lanes were closed with a SigAlert at 4:56 a.m.; the collector road was opened to ease traffic and all lanes reopened at 8:51 a.m.
