  • Investigators say a Ford pickup driven by Denis Aguilar Campos, 41, traveled south in the northbound high-speed lane of Route 146 and struck a Chevrolet Tahoe head-on near Route 116.
  • The Tahoe’s driver, Jaylin Rainford, 20, and passenger Chiemelie (David) Okonkwo, 20, both Bryant students, along with Campos, were pronounced dead at the scene.
  • Both vehicles were engulfed in flames, and Route 146 North was shut down for about four hours during the emergency response.
  • Bryant University described the students’ campus involvement and made counseling and ministry services available, with classes canceled Monday as the state police investigation continues.
