Overview
- CHP received reports around 12:15 a.m. of a silver Mitsubishi Galant traveling north in the southbound lanes near Cactus Avenue.
- Officers tried to locate the vehicle as it continued the wrong way and narrowly missed several other cars.
- The Mitsubishi collided head-on with a silver Toyota Camry near Central Avenue, according to authorities.
- The Camry’s driver, 32-year-old Raulder Sotelo of Riverside, was pronounced dead at the scene.
- The Mitsubishi driver, a 20-year-old Moreno Valley resident, sustained major injuries and was hospitalized, and CHP asked witnesses to call Investigator Macias at (951) 324-7210.
