Wrexham Man Jailed for 14 Years for Selling Suicide Chemical Online

Prosecutors said two recipients died after he mailed the substance sourced through a suicide forum.

Overview

  • Miles Cross, 33, was sentenced at Mold Crown Court on 7 January 2026 after pleading guilty to four counts of encouraging or assisting suicide.
  • He operated under a pseudonym on a suicide discussion forum, posted a QR code linking to his bank account, and sold the chemical for £100 to four buyers.
  • Police searching his Wrexham home in January 2025 found quantities of the substance, and device analysis, financial records, and Royal Mail tracking tied him to the sales.
  • Two people died after receiving the chemical, including 26-year-old Shubhreet Singh in West Yorkshire, with the identities of other victims protected by court order.
  • North Wales Police and the CPS said Cross preyed on vulnerable people for profit, and officers worked with Ofcom and the National Crime Agency to restrict UK access to the forum in what is believed to be a first-of-its-kind UK prosecution.
