Overview
- At about 1 pm Sunday, the Army’s White Knight Corps reported contact with terrorists in Keshwan, Kishtwar, with an exchange of fire and the operation still in progress.
- Officials said two to three suspects are believed to be hiding in the forested area, and no neutralisation had been confirmed as of the latest updates.
- In the Seoj Dhar belt on the Udhampur–Doda border, searches entered a third day after the Friday night firefight in which Lance Dafadar Baldev Chand was fatally wounded.
- The Army held a wreath-laying in Jammu led by Maj Gen P S Dagar, with senior police and civil officers paying tribute before Baldev Chand’s remains were flown to Himachal Pradesh.
- Reinforcements, aerial surveillance assets and sniffer dogs were deployed, and security was tightened across Udhampur including along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway.
