The incident caused police to temporarily shut down the freeway for safety as Lester attempted to jump guardrails.
Lester had been missing for weeks after escaping an animal rescue facility before being spotted on the interstate.
A video of the chase went viral on social media attracting the attention of local cowboy Ricky Littlejohn who joined the pursuit.
Lester was returned to its pasture with all charges dropped and a story for the other livestock.
