Overview

  • The Wireless Power Consortium officially launched the Qi2 25W wireless charging standard on July 23, 2025, boosting the power ceiling from 15W to 25W.
  • Initial certifications include current iPhone models and charging accessories from Anker, Ugreen and Baseus.
  • WPC leadership confirmed that iPhones will support Qi2 25W and said major Android manufacturers will adopt the new standard.
  • Several Samsung flagships, including the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, are certified as Qi2 Ready at 15W and require a magnetic case to unlock full 25W speeds.
  • With several hundred devices now in the certification queue, the WPC expects widespread availability of 25W wireless chargers and receivers across multiple brands.
