Worli FIR on Fake FXOnet Using Neha Kakkar’s Name After Lawyer Loses ₹5.02 Lakh

Police have begun a cyber investigation to trace the operators through messaging records, UPI trails.

  • Between June 18 and October 9, 2025, the victim transferred ₹5,02,025 via UPI from her HDFC Bank account to accounts tied to Rajesh Kannan, VPI ProMedia Kigali, India Impex Trading Company, and VPI 361 VPECOM.
  • Worli Police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and the Information Technology Act and are examining Telegram chats, Zoom logs, and bank transaction data.
  • No arrests or recoveries have been reported, and officers note the case fits a wider pattern of celebrity-impersonation scams previously recorded in Mumbai, including a Keanu Reeves impersonation.
