World2Fly Launches Direct Rosario–Madrid Service

Province-backed airport upgrades, paired with fiscal incentives, are being used to boost tourism, cargo and Rosario’s role as an international hub.

Overview

  • World2Fly operated the inaugural Madrid–Rosario flight on October 1, 2026 and immediately began two weekly round trips using an Airbus A350‑900 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • The A350 is configured with 432 economy seats, giving the route a weekly round‑trip capacity of about 1,728 passengers and an estimated transatlantic flight time of 12 hours 35 minutes.
  • Early sales showed very high demand with the inaugural flight carrying roughly 300 passengers and subsequent departures reported near sellout levels.
  • The direct link removes the need for many travellers to reroute through Buenos Aires, Córdoba or São Paulo and will compete mainly with Latam’s existing Rosario–Madrid service via São Paulo.
  • Santa Fe invested about US$150 million in runway and terminal works completed in late 2025 and offered fiscal incentives to attract long‑haul operators, and officials say they are negotiating more international and domestic frequencies that could widen tourism, cargo and business flows.
