World Suicide Prevention Day Sees New Crisis Lines, Youth Campaigns and Workplace Guides

WHO data point to a heavy toll, with youth especially at risk under constrained services.

  • Castilla-La Mancha detailed two funded projects under Spain’s 2025–2027 plan, including a 24/7 phone service coordinated with the national 024 line, crisis response, postvention supports and psychological autopsies, plus environmental measures at identified hotspots.
  • Spain’s health minister noted a recent decline in suicide deaths after years of increases, with provisional INE data showing 3,846 deaths in 2024 (down 6.6%), yet an average of 11 deaths per day persists.
