Overview

• At 1:35 pm on June 6, 39-year-old Arjun Kishori Patwa fell from the fourth floor of an under-construction building on Khardi Road in Kausa and died at the scene.
• Patwa was working as a plasterer without personal protective equipment, a shortfall identified in a preliminary inquiry as a factor in the fatal accident.
• An FIR has been registered against the site’s builder and contractor for death by negligence and common intention under sections 106/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
• Investigators have not made any arrests and are collecting technical evidence and recording statements from witnesses present at the site.
• Police have said further legal action will be taken based on the outcome of the ongoing probe.
