Overview
- The deceased was identified as Maruti Raghoji Bhalerao, 32, a resident of Ranubai Mala in Chakan and originally from Nanded district.
- The collapse occurred around 4:45 pm on Saturday at a construction site in J Block of Bhosari MIDC in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
- Excavation and levelling were underway when an adjacent old shed and boundary wall gave way into the dug-out area, burying the worker.
- Rescue teams from Nehru Nagar, Pimpri and Bhosari stations used a JCB/backhoe to clear debris and transported the victim to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
- Police registered an accidental death report and launched an investigation, and fire officials said the collapsed shed belonged to Modern Metal Services.
