"Wonka" Tops International Box Office with $43.2 Million Opening

Despite its success, the film struggles in China, while "Migration" opens to $6.5 million and "Napoleon" continues its global success.

"Wonka", a film about the famous chocolatier Willy Wonka, opened to $43.2 million, topping the international box office.
The film, starring Timothée Chalamet, debuted in 37 markets, including Spain, Germany, Mexico, Japan, and the U.K.
Despite its success, "Wonka" struggled in China, earning only $3.2 million, possibly due to outbreaks of the flu and a cold front across the country.
"Migration", an animated film by Illumination and Universal, opened to $6.5 million from its first 18 markets, including China where it earned a paltry $1 million.
"Napoleon", Ridley Scott’s film about the French leader, earned $16.1 million from 64 markets, bringing its global haul to $170.8 million.
