• BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed a 40-minute tribute before the India–Sri Lanka match on September 30 at Barsapara (ACA) Stadium.
• The programme features Shreya Ghoshal, Papon, Joi Barua and the Shillong Chamber Choir, with Ghoshal also slated to sing during the match break.
• Plans for a grand opening were pared back into a more solemn observance dedicated to Garg.
• The Assam Cricket Association bought 5,000 tickets priced at ₹100 for distribution to Garg’s fans on a first-come basis at the Guwahati Sports Association office on September 29.
• Former captains of India’s women’s teams have been invited to attend the inaugural match and will be felicitated.
