Women's Football Revenue on the Rise, Expected to Dominate in 2024

Despite Financial Challenges, Women's Football Clubs See Significant Revenue Growth, with Barcelona Leading the Pack

  • Deloitte Football Money League (DFML) reports that the average revenue generated by the top 15 highest revenue-generating women's football clubs in 2022-23 stood at €4.3 million, a 61% increase from the previous year.

  • Seven of the clubs in the top 15 belong to the Women's Super League (WSL), indicating its strength and potential for further commercialisation.
  • Despite the revenue growth, no clubs were profitable in 2022-23, with the average wages/revenue ratio standing at 106%.
