Overview

  • Kayla Thompson delivered a premature daughter, later named Aurora, inside the couple’s RV on Wednesday at Black Rock City after experiencing sudden cramps.
  • Nearby medical professionals, including an OB-GYN, a neonatal nurse and a pediatric doctor, helped with the delivery before Burning Man staff moved the family to the Rampart clinic.
  • Due to space limits, Aurora was flown alone to a Reno NICU while her parents drove for nearly four hours to reach the hospital, where she remains under care.
