Woman Survives After Being Compacted in Garbage Truck

Rescued by firefighters, the woman was hospitalized with serious injuries but is expected to recover.

A woman in Manchester, New Hampshire, fell into a dumpster while throwing out her garbage and was subsequently loaded onto a garbage truck.
The garbage truck driver noticed the woman in the truck's trash compartment via a camera after the trash had been compacted four times.
Firefighters rescued the woman by entering the garbage truck through the roof and using a basket attached to a fire truck crane to pull her out.
The woman was taken to Elliot Hospital in serious condition, but her injuries, including broken bones, were not life-threatening and she was later released.
