Overview

• A white BMW overturned on Aylestone Road near Leicester Royal Infirmary at about 5:30 pm on June 24, and the driver then ran from the scene to allegedly attack a passing pedestrian.
• The victim, a woman in her 50s, is being treated in critical condition at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.
• Leicestershire Police arrested the 23-year-old suspect at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder.
• Police say the man also faces charges including possession with intent to supply class B drugs, assault of an emergency worker, dangerous driving, driving under the influence of drugs, and failing to provide a specimen.
