Overview

• Lancashire Police were called around 10am on 25 August after reports a woman was pulled from the sea opposite the Belvedere Hotel.
• HM Coastguard, Blackpool beach patrol and police attended, with on-scene treatment before transfer to hospital.
• The woman, identified as in her thirties, died in hospital and her next of kin have been informed.
• Officers say the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.
• Locals reported a large emergency-services presence along the North Promenade during the Bank Holiday incident.
