Woman Fatally Stabbed in Tokyo's Takadanobaba District; Suspect Arrested

A 22-year-old woman was attacked while live-streaming, with police investigating the suspect's intent and prior connection to the victim.

Airi Sato, a 22-year-old woman from Tokyo's Tama area, was fatally stabbed on a busy street in the Takadanobaba district on Tuesday morning.
The suspect, Kenichi Takano, 42, was arrested at the scene with two knives in his possession, one of which had blood on it.
The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to her neck and chest and was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.
Police reports indicate the victim and the suspect had a prior financial dispute and had both consulted police about the issue in the past.
Investigators are determining whether the suspect can be held criminally responsible, as he claims he did not intend to kill the victim.
