Woman Faces Attempted Murder Charges Over Chadstone Townhouse Fire

  • Victoria Police allege the 37-year-old deliberately set the May 21 blaze and have charged her with two counts of attempted murder
  • The fire ignited around 9.40 pm at the two-storey Terrigal Street property after a gas cylinder exploded inside the home
  • Fire crews found the woman and her daughters, aged seven and eight, unconscious in an upstairs bedroom and rushed all three to hospital in critical condition
  • Flames destroyed bedrooms and an ensuite and caused a partial structural collapse while smoke and water damage left the rest of the townhouse uninhabitable
