Overview

• Emergency callers alerted 112 minutes before 4 p.m. that three people were being carried by the current on the left side of the beach.
• 112 coordinated a multi-agency response involving Urgencias Sanitarias de Galicia-061, Salvamento Marítimo, the regional Coast Guard, the Guardia Civil and Protección Civil de Cee.
• A Helimer rescue helicopter and a medicalized aircraft based in Santiago were mobilized as part of the operation.
• Rescuers pulled a woman from the water unconscious, and medical teams later confirmed her death after unsuccessful resuscitation efforts.
• The other adult and the child were transported to Hospital Virxe da Xunqueira in Cee for treatment after hazardous sea conditions complicated the rescue.
