Overview

• Police say Kristy Crampton punched a boy, struck him with a water bottle, and slammed his head into a window on May 26 aboard an Allegiant Airlines flight from Sanford-Orlando International Airport to Hagerstown, Maryland.
• Witnesses report the assault followed the child calling Crampton “fat” and “Miss Piggy” and shoving her armrest twice.
• Seminole County charged Crampton with felony child abuse and arraigned her on May 27.
• A judge granted her release on a $10,000 bond and imposed a no-contact order with the child.
• Because the attack occurred onboard a plane, federal authorities have been notified and are expected to file their own report.
