Woman Charged With Attempted Murder After St. Charles Apartment Stabbing

  • Police have filed charges against 39-year-old Sandy Underwood including attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and with a deadly weapon, plus two counts of domestic battery.
  • Officers responded around 8 p.m. on Tuesday to an apartment building in St. Charles and say Underwood immediately confessed to stabbing another woman upon their arrival.
  • The victim suffered multiple stab wounds and was airlifted by helicopter to a nearby hospital, where she remains under medical care.
  • Underwood was taken to Kane County Jail for a detention hearing and continues to be held pending her next court date.
