Cunha will miss Wolves' Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on January 6 and their FA Cup third-round tie at Bristol City on January 11.
The incident followed a tense match that saw teammate Rayan Ait-Nouri sent off and led to the sacking of manager Gary O'Neil, with Vitor Pereira taking over as head coach.
Cunha, Wolves' top scorer with 10 goals in 19 league games, has been a key player in their fight to stay above the relegation zone.
