Woerden to Recount GroenLinks–PvdA Votes at One Polling Station on Nov. 5

The Kiesraad-ordered check follows a voter complaint, with no expected change to the election outcome.

Overview

  • The recount starts Wednesday at 13:00 in Woerden’s council chamber and is initially limited to a single polling station.
  • A voter reported that their ballot did not appear in the published process-verbaal, prompting the Kiesraad to instruct the municipality to recheck the tally.
  • Municipal officials say the ballot appears to have been credited to another GroenLinks–PvdA candidate on the same list, so party totals are unaffected.
  • If the missing vote is not located, the municipality may broaden the recount to other party piles at that station, and it will not disclose which candidate was involved.
  • Other municipalities are also conducting checks at the Kiesraad’s request, including an Aalten case involving a local CDA candidate and a Breukelen mix-up of 38 GroenLinks–PvdA votes found through data analysis.
