Overview
- The eight playoff teams are confirmed: Minnesota, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Phoenix, New York, Indiana, Golden State and Seattle.
- Las Vegas can clinch the No. 2 seed with a win over the Sparks after Atlanta briefly moved ahead with a victory over Connecticut; the Aces hold the tiebreaker and enter on a 15-game win streak.
- Golden State, the first expansion team to reach the postseason in its inaugural year, will be the No. 6 seed with a win at Minnesota or fall to No. 8 with a loss, which would also shift Seattle and Indiana one spot each.
- The only matchup locked in is No. 4 Phoenix vs. No. 5 New York, and the postseason opens Sunday, Sept. 14 under the revised format.
- The first round uses a 1-1-1 home/away/home setup, the semifinals remain best-of-five, the Finals expand to best-of-seven, and Indiana will be without Caitlin Clark.
