Overview

  • Players walked onto the court in Indianapolis wearing black T-shirts that read “Pay Us What You Owe Us” to dramatize demands during All-Star warm-ups.
  • More than 40 players took part in a face-to-face bargaining session this week, the largest in-person WNBPA turnout for CBA talks to date.
  • The players’ union issued a statement saying the league’s counterproposal fails to address the revenue-sharing, salary and benefit priorities voiced since the October 2024 opt-out.
  • Commissioner Cathy Engelbert called the discussions constructive and said she remains optimistic a transformational deal will be reached before the October 2025 expiry.
  • The union is pushing for a revamped revenue-sharing model, higher base salaries, enhanced benefits and a softer team salary cap to match the WNBA’s rapid commercial growth.
