Wizards Trade Muscala, Gallinari to Pistons for Bagley, Livers

The Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons made a trade, swapping four players between them. The Wizards traded veterans Mike Muscala and Danilo Gallinari to Detroit for Marvin Bagley III and Isaiah Livers, along with two second-round picks.
None of the four players involved in the trade played in the game following the trade, as they awaited the completion of physicals.
The trade is seen as a financial move for Detroit, as Bagley has one more full year on his deal worth $12.5 million, while Gallinari and Muscala have contracts that expire after this season. The Pistons could potentially have $60 million in cap space this summer.
For Washington, the trade is about acquiring young players and draft picks. The Wizards receive Bagley, a center who can score, and take a chance on Livers, who was a great shooter in college.
Despite the trade, neither team is expected to significantly improve in the short term. The Pistons and the Wizards are currently the two worst teams in the Eastern Conference.
