Overview

  • Wizards of the Coast has signed an exclusive publishing agreement with Giant Skull to develop an all-new single-player action-adventure game set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe.
  • Giant Skull was founded in March 2024 by Stig Asmussen, known for directing God of War III and the Star Wars Jedi series, and is committed to “gameplay-driven, story-immersed” design.
  • The untitled title is being built on Unreal Engine 5 for release on PC and consoles, though no launch window or specific platforms have been announced.
  • This partnership forms a key pillar of WotC’s “Playing to Win” strategy, expanding its digital offerings alongside projects from Invoke Studios, Archetype Entertainment and Atomic Arcade.
  • The deal follows WotC’s previous work with Larian Studios on Baldur’s Gate 3 and marks its first major D&D video game collaboration since that agreement concluded.
