Wisconsin Woman Found Guilty of Murder by Eye Drop Poisoning

Jessy Kurczewski Convicted for Killing Friend Lynn Hernan and Stealing Nearly $300,000; Sentencing Set for December 7

Jessy Kurczewski, 39, has been found guilty of first-degree intentional homicide and two counts of theft in connection with the 2018 death of her friend, Lynn Hernan.
Kurczewski poisoned Hernan by adding six bottles' worth of Visine, an over-the-counter eye drop, into her water bottle.
Hernan's death was initially ruled a drug overdose, but the case was reopened when a toxicology report found a fatal dose of tetrahydrozoline, the main ingredient in Visine, in her system.
Kurczewski was also found guilty of stealing nearly $300,000 from Hernan over a two-year period leading up to her death.
Kurczewski's sentencing is scheduled for December 7, 2023, where she faces a mandatory life sentence for the homicide charge and a maximum of five years for each theft charge.
