Wisconsin Teen Arrested 800 Miles Away After Parents Found Dead in Home

Nikita Casap, 17, is a person of interest in the shooting deaths of his mother and stepfather, as investigations continue into the double homicide.

Police discovered the bodies of Tatiana Casap and Donald Mayer in their Waukesha, Wisconsin home during a welfare check on February 28, after Mayer's mother raised concerns.
Both victims were found with gunshot wounds, and decomposition indicated they had been dead for several days before being found.
Nikita Casap, the 17-year-old son of Tatiana Casap, was apprehended in WaKeeney, Kansas, during a traffic stop on February 28, driving his stepfather's Volkswagen Atlas with a firearm and the family dog inside.
Authorities have charged Casap with theft of the vehicle and a firearm but have not yet charged him in connection with the homicides, which remain under investigation.
Cell phone records and surveillance footage suggest Casap traveled through multiple states after leaving Wisconsin on February 24, stopping briefly at a truck stop in Iowa.
