Wisconsin Secretary of State Calls for Removal of Fake Trump Elector
Robert Spindell Jr., who served as a fake elector for Trump in the 2020 election, faces calls for his removal from the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
- Sarah Godlewski, the Democratic Secretary of State in Wisconsin, has called for the removal of Robert Spindell Jr., a Republican who served as a fake elector for former President Trump, from the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
- Spindell was one of 10 Republicans who signed certificates in 2020 falsely stating that Trump had won Wisconsin, which was won by President Joe Biden.
- Last week, these 10 Republicans conceded in a legal settlement that Biden had won the state and agreed not to serve as electors in any future election where Trump is running.
- They also admitted that their actions were part of an attempt to improperly overturn the 2020 presidential election results, but avoided paying any damages and did not admit any wrongdoing.
- Spindell, who was first appointed to the commission in 2019 and reappointed in 2021, will be a member leading up to and after the 2024 presidential election unless he resigns or is removed.
