Wisconsin Badgers Land Commitment from Four-Star QB Carter Smith

The dual-threat quarterback from Florida becomes the highest-rated recruit in Wisconsin’s 2025 class after decommitting from Michigan last month.

Carter Smith, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound quarterback from Fort Myers, Florida, announced his commitment to Wisconsin on Sunday.
Smith is ranked as the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback in the 2025 class by ESPN and is considered a four-star recruit by multiple outlets.
He previously committed to Michigan in 2023 but reopened his recruitment in October after Michigan pursued another quarterback, Bryce Underwood.
Smith’s senior season at Bishop Verot High School includes 1,386 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, and 632 rushing yards with 12 rushing touchdowns.
With Smith’s pledge, Wisconsin’s 2025 recruiting class now includes 25 members and is ranked No. 31 nationally by ESPN.
