Winthrop Man Arraigned After I-93 Ride as Police Investigation Continues

Overview

  • More than 100 cyclists, dirt-bike riders and scooter users boarded I-93 via the Zakim Bridge, passed through the O’Neill Tunnel and later entered the Seaport District.
  • State Police tracked the group by helicopter and cruisers and urged the public not to approach or engage with the riders.
  • A dirt bike collided with a State Police cruiser near D and Summer streets, its operator fled the scene and officials later confirmed the machine was stolen.
  • Adam Harrison, 22, of Winthrop was arrested at the Seaport, arraigned on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, pleaded not guilty and was released on personal recognizance.
  • MassDOT has withheld official tunnel video until the State Police investigation concludes, and officials say other participants in the highway incursion remain under active scrutiny.
