- Jarett Phillips, 30, was arrested on July 16 and faces one count of communicating for the purpose of obtaining sexual services and three counts of procuring for sexual exploitation.
- The OPP’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit led the operation with tactical teams from 21 police agencies across Ontario, including London, Hamilton, Kingston, Ottawa, Peel and Toronto services.
- Investigators opened the probe in May after online advertisements flagged a trafficking victim and subsequently identified a second victim through the intelligence-led strategy.
- Following today’s appearance, Phillips remains in custody as prosecutors prepare to set future court dates at the Ontario Court of Justice.
