Overview
- On August 11, Microsoft confirmed Home and Pro editions of Windows 11 version 23H2 will no longer receive updates after November 11, 2025.
- Users are advised to upgrade to Windows 11 24H2, generally available since October 2024, to maintain security protections.
- Active safeguard holds on devices with incompatible drivers and software—such as SenseShield, Intel Smart Sound Technology, Dirac audio tools and certain webcam utilities—can block the 24H2 update.
- Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 11 23H2 will continue receiving mainstream support and security patches until November 10, 2026.
- With Windows 11 now running on over half of global PCs, millions of remaining 23H2 users risk exposure to unpatched vulnerabilities if they fail to upgrade.
