Overview

  • North Carolina posted a season-high 99 points in a 99-51 rout of East Carolina, shooting 54% with 12 made threes.
  • Freshman Caleb Wilson finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds for his fifth straight 20-point game, the first UNC freshman to do so since Phil Ford in 1975.
  • UNC’s defense held ECU to 26% shooting and 2-of-22 from deep, forced 17 turnovers that became 26 Tar Heel points, and limited AAC scoring leader Jordan Riley to 11 points on 4-for-24.
  • Henri Veesaar added 16 points and 10 boards with four threes, Luka Bogavac scored 15, and Seth Trimble had 12 in his second game back from a broken forearm.
  • Hubert Davis continues to manage point guard minutes with Derek Dixon gaining run over Kyan Evans, and ACC play begins Dec. 30 at home against Florida State.
