  • Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Willie Nelson performed at the ceremony alongside Chris Stapleton, Sheryl Crow, and Dave Matthews. The setlist included “Whiskey River”, “Crazy” and the crowd favorite “On the Road Again”.
  • Matthews gave a speech in Nelson's honor, discussing the country music icon's influence, including the legend of him smoking marijuana in the White House, his role in the outlaw country movement, and the origins of Farm Aid.
  • In his acceptance speech, Nelson highlighted his love of early rock 'n roll pioneers like Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, and Jerry Lee Lewis, his lack of attention to music categories, and thanked his musical family band for supporting him on his journey.
  • To commemorate his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Nelson released a 'Greatest Hits' album. A live recording of his 90th birthday party featuring performances from Keith Richards, the Chicks, Snoop Dogg, Sheryl Crow, and Chris Stapleton will be aired by CBS on December 17.
  • Besides his induction celebrations, Nelson performed at The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, discussing his career, songwriting process, and shared a performance of “Whiskey River” from his 1973 album Shotgun Willie.
