Overview
- Kensington Palace released the Waleses’ card with a family portrait of William, Kate, George, Charlotte and Louis seated on grass among daffodils, captioned “Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas.”
- The image dates to April in Norfolk and appears to be from the same session used for Prince George’s 12th and Prince Louis’s 7th birthday portraits.
- Two days earlier, King Charles hosted the traditional pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace for senior and extended royals, with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie among those seen arriving.
- Prince Andrew did not attend the lunch and was reported as not invited, days after the Metropolitan Police said they would take no further action on a related allegation; Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not present and are reported to be in California.
- The Duke of Kent joined the gathering in his first Christmas season without the Duchess, and earlier this month the King and Queen released their card using their 20th wedding anniversary portrait.
