Sony Pictures has tapped Will Smith to star in 'Resistor,' a sci-fi thriller adapted from Daniel Suarez's book 'Influx.'
The story centers on a physicist who discovers a device that can reflect gravity, only to be imprisoned by a secretive government agency.
Producers include Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, and Tony Shaw, with Smith also producing through Westbrook.
The script is being developed by Eric Singer, known for 'Top Gun: Maverick,' with no director attached yet.
This marks Smith’s first major project following the success of 'Bad Boys: Ride or Die,' which has grossed over $215 million globally.
