Overview
- Ten months after the Palisades Fire, the park will welcome visitors starting Saturday and will be open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset.
- About half of the park’s nine miles of trails will be accessible, with 4.2 miles reopening and 4.8 miles remaining closed during repairs.
- The Backbone Trail and Rivas Canyon Trail stay closed, and the loop to Inspiration Point will be only partially open with intermittent closures.
- The polo field and main lawn are returning to use, with youth soccer and lacrosse set to resume matches and the polo field available for the new season in April.
- The fire destroyed the ranch house, stables, and roughly 30 other structures across nearly the entire park, while a Corps of Engineers site processed debris from more than 4,400 lots and over 10,000 felled trees.
